To Hurdzan/Frys credit the 8th is a short par 4 less than 300 yards. There are holes and characteristics of both courses that might give either one an edge.

Very elite with amazing stories behind the design on a non-descript sand pit. If one can get a game here, they should jump at the opportunity. From a conditioning standpoint the course could host a PGA Tour event on a moments notice which may account for why Steve Stricker is a member at the club.

The green is very tilted right to left and sloped slightly back to front. For the better players the course is definitely long enough at 7284 yards while for the average player there are good options at 6635 and 6367 yards. On a course full of great shot opportunities to execute, the 16th provides the most heroic swing of the day and one you won't soon forget.

Sand is prevalent throughout the layout with expansive white bunkering as well as waste areas that are blanketed in pine needles which act as the undergrowth of numerous species of trees and bushes. With a challenging par four coming up next, you need to take advantage of this gift hole while you have the chance.

I personally thought this was a huge compliment to the course. The greens are tough to hit, the aprons around the greens are undulating / punishing and the shaping on the putting surfaces is a massive test. The condition of the course was as good as you'll see for Florida with one exception: its really cool to have massive waste bunkering but its tough to figure out exactly what materials the bunkers should be. Calusa is blessed with a unique topography, which really rolls in places including a dramatic panoramic downhill par 3.

Chensoff decided to gamble, instructing Hurdzan-Fry to design the most unique course in south Florida despite a dead flat site. This review whets the appetite like few others. Players that get too nifty with their chip from off the green and leave it short will quickly have an opportunity to try again as they'll find their ball right back at their feet. The Brickyard Golf Club is the most underrated private course in Middle Georgia. The membership is rather exclusive and filled with a decent number of professionals. If one wants a penal/more difficult golf course than the TPC Stadium course would have an edge due to its incorporation of water on many holes, particularly due to the green hard against the water on the memorable sixteenth hole, the seventeenth island green and the tough driving hole over water on eighteen. The green is likely one of the most difficult on the green with a swale on the left leading to a valley of sin and another large bunker right. The elevation change comfortably accounts for a half club difference, and perhaps a full club for some players, so you'll want to adjust accordingly.
