Birch is similarly light in color, but with a cooler undertone. This is a warm color, similar in some ways to Summer Oak. Im not sure how (or if it is even possible) to achieve the color I want. Where with pine (except heart pine), its softness accepts stain quickly and often unevenly, which is why conditioner is so important to use before staining many softwoods.
